Lots of beautiful babywear has arrived for both boys and girls! Plenty in sizes 000-0, with some styles, like Ouch, going up to size 1 and 2 years, for those bubbly chubby babes out there. The brands we have at the moment are Infancy Designs, Milky, Purebaby, Ouch, Fabric, Rock Your Baby, Petite Nest and Buttermilk Baby.
The boys section... Can you spot my favourite crochet toys? Nelson the Lion and Wesley the monkey!
The girls section... All about apricot, melon, pink and purple.
Gosh, I love stripes! I always have. I love spots too, but stripes are just so… I don’t know… awesome. This season there’s plenty of them about, nothing new I know, but I’m still digging them. Check out these great rompers from Infancy designs.
Loving the old school neck to knees swimmers look. Available in navy and red. Sizes 000-0 $34.50. Matching stretch wraps, 120x120cm. $35.

What busy little bees we have been today! Carrying boxes, unpacking, pricing, sizing, oohing, ahhing, folding and hanging. We have received lots of great pieces for boys and girls, babies and toddlers!

Hello all! We have tutus in abundance at Infancy this week. New colours like emerald, sky blue, cream and light pink are on display at each store. This week’s window is a flash of colour! Arresting enough to stop everyone in their tracks on Booth Street today. Ooohing and ahhhing! A bit of fun for a dreary day!
Princess Ratbag tutus $90. One size 2-7 years.
We also have a plethora of gumboots from Ouch. This week they are a lovely 25% off, so don’t hang about! Come in and try some on. We have two types, the taller more traditional ‘Hunter’ style in block colours and the shorter kids style gumboots in patterns. I can hear the rain tinkling again outside now…
Another favourite of mine for the season, has been these delicious fur beanies from Britt Designs. We have two sizes 6-12 months and 1-2 months and they are $55. They are Australian made so they would make a great present to post overseas. These polka dot blankets from Infancy are also a winner. Soft, stretchy and large! Big enough for a cot or to use as a throw. They would also make a great feature on the end of a single bed. Available in cream and pink $79.
Lil Fraser wraps are in stock as well. These make an excellent baby shower or new baby gift. They can be used for swaddling babies at sleep time, folded over as a blanket in the pram, over the pram as a sun shield or even as a basinette sheet. At 120 x 120 cms wide and 100% cotton they are a sure fire hit.
I’ve so much to tell you! Lots of wonderful things have hit our shelves since last week, and as a result all our lovely Infancy staff, myself included, are wandering around in zombie-like states, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of product to organise! But I think we’re nearly on top of it.
Today we received new hand-crocheted blankets from And the Little Dog Laughed, alphabet wall cards from Eeboo, and a handful of comfortable unisex items from Shampoodle, mini fabric babushka dolls and birds, and just a hint of bunnies…
Read to me Alphabet wall cards $56
Hardware alphabet wall cards $56
And the Little Dog Laughed Hand-crocheted blanket $78
And the Little Dog laughed hand-crocheted blanket in pink $78
Sunshine in a onesie! Shampoodle organic cotton suit $35
And from last week, piles and piles of Ouch Clothing! Including long sleeved tops, cardigans, babywear, trousers, skirts, puffa jackets, zip up vests, beanies, for both boys and girls.
Rozelle's plethora of winter girls clothing, finally in some semblance of order.
And of course a generous selection of boyswear from Ouch, Freshbaked and Munster.
… And I’ll take it with or without the complimentary sleeping baby! Preferably with. This season we seem to get the woolly winter things and rain gear on sparklingly sunny days. Weird. Although, if its any thing like this Summer just passed, Winter might not even get that cold. Just tease us with a bit of rain and breath of wind but never get quite cold enough to get out the beanie or the trench coat. Oh Climate Change, you saucy minx!
Australian label, Minimink, is now in its 8th year of business! “It all started in 2003, with one product – the rug/wrap/throw.
Not surprisingly, this product continues to be a best seller as it is such a versatile, luxurious and useful piece. You only need to take this one rug out to keep baby warm, wrap him/her in, use as a play rug, a throw, and wash it again and again while maintaining the same beautiful quality. AND, there is nothing better than having every second person admire your rug (and of course your baby)!!”
The faux fur (also called ecological fur as no animal has been harmed) is manufactured specifically for Minimink. The softness of the faux fur has to be felt to be believed and it is this quality that has established Minimink as a high quality label world-wide.
Infancy stocks the rug/wrap/ throw in milk (pictured), honey and chocolate. They are $99.95 and they make the perfect gift for a Winter baby. Or just for you!
It seems like just yesterday I was singing the praises of Sunday. Well, I suppose it was the day before yesterday. Either way, there just isn’t enough hours in the day to get it all done! By ‘it’ I mean, all this life stuff. There’s just so much life to do! It’s just life, life, life, 24/7. It’s exhausting! God, forbid I throw a baby into the mix! I don’t know how you guys do it!! Practise, I suppose and a lot of wine? That’s just a guess.
On a lighter note, this is what I fiddled and diddled with tonight.
This is a snap from my merchandising adventures in store today. See something you like? Follow the numbers in the black and white picture below for more details.
Snugglebum pj sets $39.95 sizes 18months to 4 years.
Love hearts. My mum told me that when I was little I would always say ‘love hearts’, never just hearts. Everyone had ‘love hearts’ inside them and Grandpa died of a ‘love heart attack’ etc… And today I’ve seen love hearts everywhere! In the shop windows, including ours, in the little smiling faces of the babies and children who’ve come into visit, and last week, I saw slightly crazed love hearts, in the eyes of all the mums snapping up bargains during the sale. Ah, love.
Delicious chocolate and cream cashmere onesies from Infancy and cotton blankets from Purebaby. Yum!
This week my love heart is thumping for all the new stock coming through the doors. There are some seriously beautiful things in all of the ranges that has arrived so far. Ouch knitwear is going to be hot property this season, I can feel it. Our first drop of Purebaby is flying out the door already. I nearly wept over a pair of knit leggings with a customer last week, they were just too cute! Love, as always, goes to Penny Scallan rain jackets in stars, cars and apples, for making even the rainiest days just that little bit brighter. And I’ve got a huge crush on the new Walnut Desert boots. I practically fall over myself every time I see them in store.
Sweet new long sleeved onesies and sets from Petite Nest.
I think I just blushed thinking about them! Oh dear. Better go and make dinner.

Wow! Another day done. We’re up to day two of our spectacular Summer clearance sale and I’m absolutely pooped. I don’t know about you but I’d like to spend a few hours sitting in a quiet, dark room, by myself, sipping luke-warm water and finding some “inner peace”. I suppose I’ll make it through… Besides there’s only 3 days to go!
That’s right! Only 3 days left to snap up some serious summer bargains! I spent most of today explaining to our lovely awestruck customers, “that yes, that entire wall of clothes is 50% off the marked price, and yes, it’s sounds too good to be true, but it is!” And the rest of the day oogling at all the gorgeous little babies people had brought shopping. So cute! Please bring more babies, it keeps morale high!
A quick run down of what we have going in store…
Boys and Girls clothing 50 % off (newborn to 7 years and the occasional 8, 10 and 12)
Rattles $5 each or 3 for $10
Maternity 50% off
Bloomers, Bibs $5
Pjs $15 a set
And a selection of toys, gifts, trunkies, posters at each store reduced to clear.
I’m not completely freaking out that today was the last day of January, just moderately freaking out. And it doesn’t help that February looks like a real back breaker from here. But I suppose anything is more achievable with the kiddies back at school and the grown-ups settling back into more regular work hours. At least there will be less people at a “certain cafe in Camperdown” of a weekday, it was beginning to get totally out of control!
Though, at Infancy, it’s all pretty relaxed. We’re getting ready for the big Summer you-know-what, seeing some beautiful new stock arrive for the coming Autumn season and re-filling the shelves with our old favourites.
Studio Skinky Tortellini Feeding Cushions are back in stock.
Some gorgeous new stock from Ouch has arrived, including girls singlets with sequined details, denim dresses and singlets, tees and shorts for boys.
Skip Hop Zoo Backpacks and cooler bags adorn our windows for Back to School. P.s. Check out Newtown's great vintage school desk! Takes you right back!
Oh January, you crazy month! Rain, sunshine, tropical thunderstorms, the Sydney Festival, children everywhere traveling in packs, exhausted parents, sweltering expectant mothers pacing the streets, less cars on the road… What a dream come true!! Although, there is an unpleasant lack of good coffee shops open, within walking distance of the shop. Starting to dream about coffee.
This week at Infancy it is well and truly a new year. New stock, new directions, new adventures! (As you can tell, I’m trying to stay positive) We have a Sapling promotion, to accompany the new stock, simply ‘like’ Sapling child and Infancy on facebook and go in the draw to win a Sapling baby gift pack! And who wouldn’t want that! Their products are GORGEOUS! Soft organic fabrics, sensible sizing and divine prints. Where do I enter?….
As mentioned on facebook, a new range of toddler clothing, called Crochet Bambini, has arrived in store. (You can see them hanging on the rack in the back of the above photo) Cute cute cute crochet vest and coats, crochet bloomers and some seriously cuddly toys. My favourites are the lion and monkey! But any of the toys would a make a great addition to a baby gift.
30% off Maternity clothing continues in store, with a good range of sizes still left. I assume it’s pretty hot and awkward being pregnant and in a fitting room, but do pop in and try something on, only then will you know just how comfortable and versatile this range is.
