Hello all! I hope you’re Christmas shopping is going well, or done. I did a last minute run around today just getting that little something extra for a few special people. It was worth the harrowing expedition to the shops. I feel much better.

If you’re still looking for that little something extra pop in to Infancy.  There’s still time. All our stores are open Friday 23rd 9.30am-4.30pm, and Christmas Eve Saturday 24th 9.30am-1pm. We have lots of lovely bits and pieces for newborns, children 1-7 years and a few things for new or expectant parents.

On that note, I just thought I should share with you the superb display our wonderful Victoria has done at the Newtown store. Stocking fillers, laid out in all their glory!

Just so you know… Our holiday hours are:

Closed from 1pm Saturday 24th December (Christmas Eve)

This year our Newtown store will be opening on the 28th, 29th and 30th from 10am-3pm.

All stores will re-open in the new year on Wednesday 4th January.

We've gone yellow this week. How sunny!

Santa is coming and all the mummies, daddies, aunties, uncles and grandparents have been busy little bees in preparation.  We had a lovely weekend at our Infancy stores, madly wrapping everything under the sun and making Christmas wishes come true. My favourite Christmas game is when special things are surreptitiously passed to me behind the counter and slipped into non-descript brown bags. The thrill. The cunning. The art of shopping for Christmas with your Children in the shop! It’s mastery at work.

But 12 days, that’s just madness! I admit, I’ve done all my shopping and wrapped the lot, but I haven’t planned what I’m going to wear! Also,  our faithful leader is overseas on holidays, so our lovely Infancy staff are working over-time to keep everything running smoothly. I don’t know whether to cross my fingers, cover my eyes or take deep breaths from a brown paper bag. But that’s Christmas for you…

Milly and Jock stretch swaddles $32.50.

This week we’ve received stock from Milly and Jock, Aden and Anais, Heritage Toys and Games and plenty more I can’t remember. We’ve also got a few more of those stunning red children’s pianos. The larger items are nearly sold out, like Pirate Ships, Dolls houses, circus tents, tee pees, ride-ons, trikes and bikes. So if you’re still umming and ahhing… get in and do a lay-by! The disappointment is too painful to watch.

Stocking fillers like Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, Picture Dominos and Pick up Sticks never go out of fashion.

Wow. How the days fly past! The stock is also flying. In the door and out the door. Well, actually, it’s carried, tonne by tonne by to a tiny hatchback, driven to each store, unpacked, priced, merchandised, hand picked, bought, wrapped, bagged and then it’s out the door again, stashed in someone’s cupboard ready for Santa to collect.  It’s like food miles, except with toys. This weeks update comes on the eve of a mega Christmas shopping weekend. I can feel it. It’s gonna be messy, crazy and fun! My gift wrapping fingers are ready, if your gift buying mojo is!
