So much has been happening lately, I’ve seldom had a second to think let alone blog! That unstoppable acceleration towards the end of the year is well and truly in operation. The diary is full to bursting and it’s only October. I have no option but to get on board, hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

This week at Infancy we’ve gone rural. Originally we were going to go Melbourne Cup crazy, in advance of next week but the window displays just morphed. It’s probably the hay. We’re featuring denims, checks and blues. Cool. Cool. Cool.

The toys are starting to flow in and pile up ready for those keen Christmas shoppers, who’ve already started collecting this and that. Old Fashioned toys like spinning tops, Russian nesting dolls and wooden blocks are popular with all ages. Also more modern Kido racing cars, stacking ducks and tip trucks will keep those automobile fans happy.

The summer range of Petite Nest linen has also arrived in store. Super cute and super soft options for sleeping, playing and bathing. The items in the range are fitted cot sheets, cot quilts, cot bumpers, hooded towel, face washers and bibs. This seasons range also includes clothing but it hasn’t hit the shelves yet. Patience. In the mean time the linen range should sort out any newborn and baby shower presents coming up.

Best Day ever!

I had a lovely day in Newtown yesterday fiddling around and changing the displays! Our dearest Victoria has popped off to New Zealand for a week or so and some of the other wonderful Infancy ladies and I will be filling in until she returns. So if you have any questions or queries do drop in, we’re only too happy to help.

These David Fasseneger blankets are so soft you'll want to steal it from your child once they are asleep and cuddle up with it yourself.

New stock from David Fasseneger has arrived, just the giraffe and elephant blanket and the apple bunny rug so far, but more to come. Also Zzzooo Lamps are back in elephants and giraffes and also a mini elephant version that changes colour when you clap! Amazing.

Ah!!! So cute!

This week’s window features the new knitted cardigans from Infancy designs. They are sizes 0-6 years and come in beige, pink and blue. Just perfect for putting on over a Summer dress when the afternoon breeze blows in. Light and floaty pinstripe  drawstring skirts have also arrived, sized 0-6years. There were so many clothing combinations to choose from this seasons ranges, I had an awfully hard time deciding what to actually dress the mannequins in.

Clothing by Infancy designs and Freshbaked. I love the tailored shorts on the left. How grown up!

If I manage to do a blog tonight and not get hacked, I’ll be one up on last week. Although I did complete my muffins and they were vaguely edible but we didn’t have much success with Trivia. I’m not totally devastated. They were particularly silly questions anyway. Golf? Whatever…

Baby essentials like Sophie the Giraffe, Lil Fraser wraps, pram blankets, rattles, carriers all make excellent newborn presents.

This week the big news is Lil Fraser swaddling wraps are back in stock. We’ve also been busy making up little baby gift sets for the bounty of new arrivals. I have it on good authority that the local hospital birthing centre was chock-a-block last week. I expect a stampede of “Oh my god we’re on our way to go and visit  and I need a little something…” over the next few days.

The baby wear range has adopted all the colours of the rainbow for Summer!

For the last few days I’ve been filled with the overwhelming desire to shrug off my usual jeans and black suit jacket look and go CRAZY with colour. So far, I’ve progressed to a steel blue singlet and jeans with the black suit jacket but any further advancement is thwarted by irregular weather. I think its the bright colours of this seasons clothing range that has inspired me and for once I really really wish some of them came in my size! Like these…

Left: Babushka Baby, sizes 1-4. Right: Infancy Designs, sizes 0-4.

And for the boys… “Colour blocking” is what I hear the fashion world calls it. I call it wearing colourful clothing.

Rock Your Baby denim shorts in blue and green, sizes 1-4. Ouch singlets in Red and Navy, sizes 0-7.

Don’t forget all our stores stock a variety of educational and traditional toys for babies and older children, as well as a Dolls House, a Kitchen centre, Tikes, tricycles and Wheely Bugs. Now, dare I mention it, is the time to start planning for that special time of year, and if you’ve got your eye on something, do pop in and put your name down or do a layby.

Old school games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Snakes and Ladders and Marbles just to name a few.

New from Jellystone Designs... Silicone Teething Owls

If I type really fast, there’s plenty of time to tell you about these amazing new teething necklaces and ice my muffins before running off to trivia. Oh, life.

So. You know how when you’re carrying your beautiful baby around, attempting to chat or get something done, and miraculously you’ve had time to slap on a necklace or something to make yourself vaguely presentable… and then your little darling grabs it a proceeds to strangle you???

Well, the smart ladies at Jellystone Designs are onto your little killing machine, and they have designed a range of elegant necklaces that are:

  • BPA Free
  • Non Toxic
