Last week I posted a photo of one of our store windows featuring our new linen range Petite Nest. I neglected to mention the baby moses basket also used in the display! And after discussing it with a few customers over the weekend I thought I’d do a little feature on it.
Simple and elegant this baby moses basket is designed for use until the baby can sit up or roll over (about 4 months) and is slightly larger than a normal basket. Included is an easy to remove machine washable 100% waffle cotton liner and with a foam mattress and mattress cover. The handles have an interwoven rope that extends around the circumference of the basket ensuring its strength and durability. Perfect use around the house and for travel. The mattress dimensions are 76cm x 34cm.
Some people swear by them, others are unmoved. I’ve spoken to both camps. Those who used a basket of this sort said it was great for daytime naps or in the parents room for the first few months, moving baby around the house and garden, great for sleep overs with friends and family, light, portable and compact.
I think I like them because when I was four I used to carry my dolly around in a smaller version. Everywhere. Probably drove my mother mad. All I need now is a real baby to put in it.
It’s all go at Infancy this week. Christmas is well and truly upon us, a month today but who’s counting? Our stores are chock-a-block with new stock. So full, that when I delivered the stock to one of our stores this afternoon I could barely fit it in my car.
The following have just arrived back in stock.
And a million other things!
So come in and get your Santa sack full before Santa does. He’s pretty greedy.
As mentioned last week, Infancy has a new range of linen and accessories just arrived in store. It’s called Petite Nest and its making me feel all clucky. Again.
The range includes reversible cot quilts, a cot bumper, fitted cot sheets, change mat covers, bibs, burbing cloths and hooded towels. Each style is available in two patterns, a fresh spot print of green, blue, grey and yellow, and a grey woodland print with owls.
All the items in this stylish range make wonderful baby shower gifts, as they are unisex and a welcome rest from the uniform white.

P.S. In the lead up to Christmas our Annandale and Newtown stores have extended their opening hours on Thursdays. Both stores will now be open till 7pm! Plenty of time to pop in after work…
P.P.S. New summer styles from Buttermilk Baby have arrived in our stores.
P.P.P.S. Also a new linen range called Nest, including cot fitted sheets, cot quilts and hooded towels in two fresh and modern prints.
I am overjoyed to see these stunning cards in our Infancy stores this week. They have been an absolute hit in past and its fantastic to have them back in stock. These little cards make excellent presents for new babies, besides being art in their own right and good enough to frame!
These cards are designed to visually stimulate young babies from about 2-3 weeks onwards, as newborns have limited vision and respond to images with high contrast. They make a striking wall display or even for those crafty bloggers, a mobile… They also work well for older children, used as flash cards.
In talking about all things black and white, I should mention the Black and White Mobile. Tried and tested Infancy staple, this mobile works on the same principle as the Art Cards, but in a mobile. Despite it’s simple design, self-assembled from cardboard and string, this is the best mobile around. Especially for newborns. Its uses are infinite and people often come in and tell me how they’ve used it for this and that or its settled their little one when a crisis was imminent.
